Last night I went to see The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Live!

It was a thoroughly good show, and I'd recommend it to anybody. What I wasn't expecting is how many of the audience had brought towels with them, and even the significant minority that had arrived in their dressing gowns. Clearly there would always be a geek core, but I was surprised by the number of outwardly average Radio 4 listening types who came prepared to take on the Hyperspace Bypass.
This set me wondering, obviously dressing up for The Rocky Horror Show is almost compulsory, and I've been to Madness gigs where wearing a possibly racist, generic Arab garb and a fez is the vogue. What other productions tend to cause people to suspend their dignity for the evening? Let's not count anything Harry Potter - those people just need a good talking to.
