I got a bike finally...and yes its from Halfords, or it was...

In one of those strange ways that things happen...some of you may remember the guy that was helping me ride the bike originally (the one running alongside holding me up...)

Well he wanted a new bike himself and he decided to get a Carrera Subway (he says they are good for the money), apparently at the moment there's a deal at Halfords where you get some mudguards and a wireless cateye velo or something with it all for only £240. Anyway, it turns out his missus fell pregnant just after he bought it and now he wants money more than a bike (slight over-reaction if you ask me, go figure!)...so I readily said I would take the lot off his hands for £200 seeing as he has used it.

Picking up this Saturday when I go to see him...

So yeah, ok, I got another (probably) crappy halfords jobby...but its half the price of the bikes I was looking at, he says its a decent bike to ride AND it comes with a decent cyclecomputer. also its helping a mate out!

Carrera Subway bikes are far from crappy.
Very good, well made, bombproof bikes.

It's just the monkey's at Halfords that sell them.

Oh thank goodness for that!

My friend has been riding bikes for nearly 30 years and he certainly knew his way around my bike when I took it with me for his "lesson"! I'm sure he would have found anything that wasnt done properly and sorted it out himself!

My pal and I cycle to footy every Monday. Since the weather turned nice a couple of other lads have started too. They both arrived this week on Carrera Subways of various guises. Obviously we incessantly mocked them, calling them 'Bike Fwiends' in a silly inbetweeners voice but they seem very decent to me!
One of the lads does the Liverpool-Chester-Liverpool ride every year on it, as well as fitness rides, and the other uses it for knocking about to the gym etc and neither of them have had problems with them.
Sounds like you've done very well.

Loved my subway , bombproof and only sold it when i was lured to the "dark side " by shiny "racing" bikes .Wish i had kept it and ended up buying a replacement as a winter bike.

Well, picked up the bike.

Also got a proper D-lock for it, its got some gold standard mark and had a rating of 9/10 on the box. Rediculously it comes with 5 keys!!!

Amazingly I havent been out on it yet, even after owning it for 5 days! Its been a busy bank holiday! Would like to think I'll get some time out on it by the weekend...

Did get a nice big 2 inch cut along my hand when I was trying to manuvore it into my car and ran my hand along one of the rear gears...
