Don't use fabric conditioner?

Wash waterproofs, na just wear them in the rain...

Ummm, not quite enough for me. They smell a bit sweaty on the inside if I don't wash them

I was told some time ago that the fabric conditioners block the wee holes in the breathability membrane/layer/fabric, thereby degrading the breathability of the garment.

I guess if your waterproofs (waterprooves ??) aren't breatheable, it won't make much difference ... except to the odours
