I came back to cycling after a ten year break about five or six years ago, and commute year-round, regardless of weather (apart from ice). I can't remember a single occasion when I've thought, 'I wish I was back on the tube'.

On the odd occasions when I have used motorized transport to get to work, I have often wished I was cycling, but never the other way round...

I was off the bike for about 3 months this winter. Couldn't be arsed with it. Not so much the cycling, but all the phaffing about getting the kit on in the morning, sorting out my work cloths and getting washed at work.

I'm enjoying being back on the bike again. Today was superb.

Came back to cycling about 1980. Been cycling to and from work ever since. Enjoy it mostly, sometimes its just boring routine, but would'nt do it any other way.

Aye sometimes im not up for it but it's still better than travelling with the plebs.

I only live 15 mins ride from work, but I go the long way so I get to do 16miles in 50ish mins.

No one says you must go direct.

For practical reasons I need a change over days (for clothes, towel etc) and I end up pining for the road

I am so jealous.
My pb for 16 and a bit miles is 64 minutes
Cant do it any quicker.

Then I saw another colleagues receipt for his annual train season ticket, i'm certainly glad I'm not stuck in a box and paying heavily for it.

Yep, £2850 per year for my 100 mins a day in a Scotrail box does hurt. Still, there is light at the end of the tunnel and I should be changing jobs in the not too distant future.
