Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
OMG OMG It could blow tomorrow. Then again it could blow in 10,000 years.

I think they should drill down into it and start releasing the pressure. They could just bleed off a bit of magma here and there for the next 25,000 years and that would fix the problem! :laugh:

True!, they have no idea when, just that it will

As the titles said during the (2 part) TV programme 'Super Volcano';
This is a true story, it just hasn't happened. Yet

I don't think I will hold my breath waiting for it to happen in that case. I think we wil be all right. I hope

Of course, that could release the pressure like a champagne cork and it all then comes fizzing up ;)

It could blow just as the Earth's polarity flips, that's apparently possibly due or overdue.

So is Vesuvious. An Italian friend once told me that nobody who studies Vesuvious will live in Naples.

All they need is a big magma-proof valve to regulate the flow, though I'm not quite sure what they could make it from that wouldn't melt ... :whistle:

There was a terrible film called The Core where the heroes had to travel to the core to restart it spinning, and their vehicle was made of unobtanium.
