Commuting home last night I notice two cyclists in bright high vis gear with blue helments. It's after lighting up time but they have no lights. They are cycling on the pavement two abreast.

I look again as I pass.

**** me they are police

I pass them on the perfectly usable road with my bright (though no doubt technically illegal) lights shining away staring at them open mouthed.

The police are there to enforce the law, they are not exempt from it. If your not happy write to the Chief Constable.

If you're definate in what you saw then you really should write a polite letter outlining your concerns over safety and the examples set. They will more than likely thank you at worst.

I not suggesting the the officers involved be disciplined in any way, I just think some training needs to be given.
After all, if people see police officers flouting the laws then why should we expect members of the public not too.
