Mark Brandon Read was never convicted of any murders, although is suspected of killing as many as 20 drug dealers, so some might argue he was actually doing a public service. Doubtless a rascall of a high order, he was nevertheless one with some degree of conscience - he contracted hepatitis from sharing razors in prison, and as he eventually fell ill in the noughties he turned down a potentially life saving liver transplant on the grounds that he felt the organ should go to someone more deserving than he. The illness eventually killed him.

My work nickname was Chopper, a term of endearment bequeathed upon me my the local ne'er do wells of a sink estate I used to patrol. Alas, my colleagues got to hear of this and the name stuck. To this day many folk still address me as Chopper. Aside from the ears, the resemblance is supposedly uncanny.
