From the small snippets of dialogue in the above I'm slightly worried that it'll sound like someone trying too hard to sound like Douglas Adams. Some of the names and dialogue sounded silly-enough-to-make-a-child-giggle funny, but not DNA-agonised-over-them-for-hours funny. But then, it could be that I'm 40 years older than when I first listened to the Radio Series as a 10 y/o. Will definitely be listening though, albeit probably on download and hoping it's more Force Awakens than Phantom Menace

Not listened to it yet, but I'll give it a whirl - I like the old stuff too, so I hope it lives up to it :okay:

In a sense yes, it's fan fiction, albeit professional fan fiction. It's the 6th book in the Trilogy written by the chap who wrote the Artemis Fowl books my kids loved and approved by Adams' widow.
