Down (almost) but not out, flaming pedestrian

Having recently got a new rear wheel with the very clicky freewheel (Halo hub...) I have noticed pedestrians noticing me a lot more.

Maybe we all need to pop a playing card on the back of our bikes to make a noise as we otherwise silently progress on our way....

Or fit a carbon disc rear wheel as on TT bikes by god they sound like a jet engine going past

They do. I think the playing card might be a cheaper solution, though.... . I sometimes whistle or sing if I want to alert pedestrians to my prescence in a non-threatening way (not all my bikes have bells).
