Alice Roberts is OK but I'd prefer Claire Barratt. We'd have a fair bit more in common and have more fun in a workshop then would be decent.

As is undoubtably correct as that statement is, my interest in them as women is more to do with the fact that they are adventurous 'outdoorsy' types.
And hence, IMVHO, they make far better role models for young women than some silicon-enhaced thrush-mongerer with a merry-go-round, soap-opera, tabloid-covering-every-facet lifestyle.
As nice as they are (Alice & Julia), why does the media try and make them some sort of sexual icon, instead of celebrating their pursuit and promotion of a fit and active adventurous lifestyle?
Yep, the scum media treating everyone like a frikkin' idiot, just to sell a worthless piece of paper by using a base common denominator - sex. And, day in day out, cretinous mugs queue up like lemmings to had over their pennies for a daily dose of the garbage.

I do find myself having impure thoughts about Victoria Coren, AR and JB don't get me that way. This is irrational (of course) because I'd prob have nothing in common with VC, she's a Londoner, a total townie, interested in (and highly skiled in) poker. I'm none of the above. The others would of course be far more likely to be interesting.
If JB never gets chatted up, then I hope to bump into her on a climbing trip, and I will make a point of making a play for her. However ineptly.

Alice was better in her hippy pink-hair days. But I did watch a whole program with her rattling on about wild swimming just to see her skinny dipping at the end.
Julia was amazingly fit on a charity calender recently - can't remember the reason but she was leaping accross the page naked. Worth a google!

I did hear she was single, and was surprised at the time.
Back in the days when I was single, I would have said that Julia was one of those women who would be ideal for a long term relationship (based on a combination of physical beauty and common interests).
I do have her Wainrights Walks series on DVD.
