Need to be at Ronaldsway airport at 18.00 on Friday 30th and the cheapest and easiest way for me to get there is to leave my car at Heysham and take the ferry to Douglas, returning on Saturday.

It's to attend an honouring ceremony for my best school friend and earliest cycling and motorcycling buddy who died suddenly three years ago so I think it's entirely appropriate that I cross with my bike and cycle the 10 miles from Douglas to Ronaldsway.

This got me thinking about the possibility of a clockwise trip around the mountain on Saturday, ending up with a mahoosive blast down the TT route straight back to the ferry port, a fitting and appropriate way to leave the island.

Very much weather-dependent of course but anybody got any thoughts on this?

I've been but never cycled there. From what i saw of it it looked amazing, light traffic, big views and remote mountain roads punctuated by villages.

I have been too. I was trading during the TT and we went early so i drove round in the works van and everywhere i went i thought 'Wow,it would be great here on my bike!!!' What a fitting tribute that would be for you to do that . Yea the weather is an issue there esp near the top!!! Good luck with it. There must be someone who has biked it????
