That a first for me. I made the mistake of utilising an ASL. I decided to go on a bit of a detour as it was a nice night. I approached the York Place/ Leith Walk junction from York Place and as usual it was congested however it was a bit worse than usual (tram works). There's three lanes and there was a bigger gap between the middle and the off side lane and the lights had just went red so I filtered down there crossed in the ASL to the inside lane and waited for the 30 secs or so I had left before the lights went green. That 30secs must of really wound up the light blue micra behind the tool behind the wheel decided to 1/3 overtake me and swerve at me. Of course after the roundabout congestion is so bad I just leave him stuck in the queue F'ing & C'ing. I was about to explode but I thought it wasn't worth it. I've had plenty of folk through inattention/ lack of apreciation of my speed, cut in/ pull out on me but thats the 1st time I've had somebody deliberately swerve into me. Leaving them stuck in a queue seemed to calm them down a mile and a half later they eventually caught up this time they gave me a better pass and seemed to have calmed down and there was a smile of recognition from the passenger but no more obsceneties, however with more lights coming up I deliberately changed my direction to give them the slip (turned left at the lights and then left again at the next).

It's annoying, isn't it? So far the few times I've had aggression from a driver, taking their photo/making it really obvious that I'm videoing them has stopped their poor behaviour right in their tracks.

You did the right thing.... I'm not so sure what I'd have done, but it would be along the same lines.......you made a fool of the driver....

Yeah that's the most annoyed I've been for a while, somebody making a mistake I can handle but somebody deliberately trying to kill me made me mad:angry:. I could of almost done their car some damage in my rage but then the road opened up ahead of me and seeing them stuck at 0mph calmed me down.

Sorry to hear about your experience. That's one of the reasons I have the camera. I'd report the scumbag with video evidence.

Ever thought of getting a camera HLaB?

That's not the point though, you can just use your phone. When they see you taking a picture, that's enough to make nearly all back off.

I've thought about it a couple of times but folk like that wouldn't know what it was and would still be stupid and to tell the truth I've not got much faith in the polis.

I can certainly understand your lack of faith in the police. I hear this all to often, and even with camera footage. I considering contacting the police formally in some way to get some sort of statement from them with regards to the use of personal video evidence. I'll need to think more about this...
