I have spoken to this driver a few times. He seemed pretty clued up, and just as with us camera-cyclists he gets a lot of flack. He just got mentioned in the above newspaper and some of the numpty comments are funny to read. Some are obviously totally illogical.

Always with the "get a life" comment. Do you ever get the feeling they say that about Hugh Hefner? The luckiest old b***ard in the world :laugh:

Brilliant.I have no problem with this. There are so many muppets out there.

One yesterday on her mobile holding with one hand with one hand while remonstrating with the other so unless she had three hands it looked like the steering wheel was doing it's own stuff.Finger stayed on the horn button for that one to draw attention.

Look at the comments.

For a driving instructor didn't he stop too close to the vehicle in front more than once.I noticed this straifght away while watching the film.

FFS. Are car drivers really this thick?

Got to be a wind up.

I thought he seemed very close. On the roundabout with the lorry he seemed to be trying to overtake the lorry when still on the roundabout, which I'm pretty sure you're not meant to do (??).

To be fair, his footage wasn't really that interesting.

Oh by the way,I have very little car driving experience* so i didn't pick up all the misdemeanors there.

(*10 Minutes actually in 1981)

Some of his clips, I'll be honest I couldnt comment on as I dont drive and know little about motorways. When I come to roundabouts like those I tend to walk or use a cycle facility - just easier for me.

Some of the other stuff he's filmed (pavement parkers, speeders, cut ups and people pulling out and stopping for no reason etc) is pretty along the lines of what we all encounter. He also seems to know his highway code, some of the people who have a go on youtube misquote it or dont know it at all (often just refering to "rules of the road" along the way)

My own theory is that, as with the old atc2k, he appears a little closer than he is. I would need to know the focal length of his camera to find out if he is tailgating or not.

What is his actual youtube channel?

I thought he slowed down a bit late in the first clip (hence why that car cutting over was more of a problem).

They're typical defensive comments by motorists who probably drive just like the ones in the videos. But on the other hand I was pretty amazed when he saw the overturned vehicle blocking the road and just turned his car around. Err, injured people? Possibly dying cyclist / pedestrian on the far side of the van?

The instuctor seemed to get as close as he could to the car that changed lanes when there was plenty of time for him, another moron by the looks of it.

Hmmm. I certainly think he has the right idea, and he openly admits that he isn't perfect, but I would question how close he drives to cars in front of him.

I hope he does go on an advanced drivers course, I'm sure they would pick it up.

I might be tempted to stick the camera in the car a few times when I drive, just to see what it picks up, but I won't be doing that regularly. Drivers 'generally' give other cars more respect than they do cyclists.
