I just got my new bike yesterday, and I noticed that when I spin the cranks backwards there is a noticeable amount of drag, not a lot, but it is noticeable.

The cranks are FSA Gossamer Pro's, the bottom bracket uses external bearings, the chain is SRAM PC1050, the cassette is SRAM Rival and the rear dérailleur is SRAM Red.

I was wondering if anyone knows where the source of the drag could be coming from? Is there a way to fix it?

Cheers,
Sam

Errr... could be that it's all a bit new, grease-packed and tight?

Might it be worth taking the chain off and then trying out one bit after another to localise where the drag's occurring? Ie, see if the cranks spin freely, then move on to the gears...process of elimination, kind of thing.

A 200 mile ride should cure it
