...or can't afford to buy. Perhaps one in twenty of the shiny genital enhancers on your neighbours driveways are actually owned outright by them. Most will be on lease, on finance, PCPs, with a couple of company cars thrown it.
Spending money you don't have, on a car you can't afford, to impress people you don't like.
I don't get a boner for cars and I'm almost blind to them in terms of brand or image. Anyone who buys a flash motor to impress me would be sadly disappointed. My Mums beau is a wealthy chap and has a genuine Shelby Cobra 427 and a Camaro SS. I was far more interested in his daily drive, a 30 year old Granada that's probably worth a fiver on a foggy night.
