Looking at my plated weights for car and caravan a month back I realised I was just over entitlement for post 1997 licence (lovely!).

Did a 2 day course this week followed buy a 1 1/2 hour driving test (B+E).

Thursday involved 7 hours of driving with the instructor undoing 18 years of bad habits, I was knackered at the end of that!.

Friday was 4 1/2 hours of driving and couple/ uncouple and reversing practice and then a lovely driving + trailer test at the end.

It been the most exhausting and challenging thing I've done in years but glad to say I passed.

Needless to say I had a few beers last night to celebrate!.

Being slightly older I am officiall, at any rate, blessed with innate knowledge and don't need any training to be allowed to do this sort of thing, unlike you young whipper snappers.

EDIT: and even though I'm official recognised as a skilled tower not needing further training, you won't catch me shed dragging on my holidays

My better half :girldance: drives ambulances with blue lights on in all sorts of conditions, and regularly volunteers for refresher courses.
So I'll do the manly thing and...

... let her drive if we ever have to reverse a trailer

Congrats.

And you genuinely learnt something? Hooray. I was passed to close today (yet again) by a BSM vehicle, with learner in place. I am very glad there are still instructors who have something to teach.

I genuinely learnt a lot on my 2 days, but it was a very exhausting exercise as well!.

Noticed today even on the motorbikes I was doing a lot more with the mirror checks which to be fair isn't a bad thing!.

I've also grown a bit lazy with our dual clutch semi auto Kuga, been nice to poke the gear stick about again!.

Might buy a manual Hilux next!.
