Was on the way home at 7.30, went down a singletrack road, a Pink Honda Jazz was parked there in a layby, looked like two people in it with a strong smell of Canabis wafting from the window, I carry on and have it appear behind, not too close and then it goes past, it pulls onto the main road and into the path of a fast moving car which breaked heavily but did not sound its horn, possibly as the driver realised they were going way too fast but I think the maneuver looked wrong as I could see it coming but the driver didnt anticipate it so that leads me to beleive that the driver had partaken of said herbs.

I have seen this car before full of kids, litter being pitched out, do I say anything to anyone or just ignore it ?

Have you got the numberplate? Might be worth reporting it to the Police.

Even if you dont have the plates still chat to the Police about it. They might just need a description or a partial plate.:hello:

Reg plate ...report it....

If you can get the reg then do it...the GMP are OK with this.... I did it last week...not expecting any more than a 'Collar felt'.....that's what they will do... the driver will no doubt poop his pants, as I 'Would have done' once.... (oh to be young....)

Don't think twice, do them a favour and report it. I have seen too many fatals of young stoned people. Everybody regrets it - afterwards. The Home Office is silly about cannabis, but this is just as silly and a lot more dangerous.

Is this really the first time you have passed a car smells of cannabis? My entire journey is like a long and enticing tour of Amsterdam, makes me eager to get home and burn one myself to be honest.

Cannabis really aint that terrible for driving, certainly no worse than the stock stupidity levels we see in drivers everyday.

If you think the driving was bad enough to warrant reporting them, then go ahead, but if it's because you smelled cannabis then think on whether you are going to report every tired or angry or otherwise distracted driver you see everyday. (This includes cell phone users, coffee drinkers, parents with annoying kids, shift workers coming home early......).

Otherwise this sounds like a moral judgement rather than any safety concern.**

Waste of time reporting it, the police are not interested. It's a minor crime with no evidence and only your word that it happened. To be honest, if I were a copper, I'd struggle to find the motivation to follow this up either with all the other stuff going on that needs attention.

Sorry to be a downer.

I've noticed (both on Chitty and the loud bike) that soooo many cars omit a smell of gear as I ride by (mostly builders vans). Its one of those things you never notice in a car. But, if I reported all of them, I'd never get to the office.

I see the car regularly, young girl, usually with some other kids in, have seen it tearing round with litter getting flung out as I was behind it once and blew my horn at it when a Coke bottle flew past, got a load of abuse off some lads in the back, I know where it comes from but its usually hanging round the park area.

I wont do anything now but it did make me think, straight after having a spliff they drove off with me in front but I prefer not to have drivers affected by weed near me when on the roads, let alone right behind me, to be fair the drive may not have had any but by the look of the drivign I would say they had.

Dont want to be a killjoy as I was young once, I tried weed a few times and to be honest I couldnt have driven after it, just wanted to eat dry bread and sigh a lot whilst wonder why the carpet felt a foot deep.

Just for the record, I dont think I have ever driven NOT stoned and never had any crashes accidents or to my knowledge, near misses.

That may be true, but when you add the effect of cannabis to the stock stupidity levels...

The question for J4CKO is: when you read the newspaper story in which one of your neighbours, or your children's friends, has been killed by this stoned driver, how will you feel when you consider you might have been able to prevent it?

An arrest or a caution for possession will be easy for plod - he's bound to find it in the car. Some cautionary words might be in order.

Smoke all you want at home, but don't do it when you're driving anywhere near me or mine, please!
