Saw a van last night driving north through Pratt's Bottom on the A233, half his bumper was scraping under the right front wheel. Didn't get a number plate or anything else. I wonder if he'd had a hit and run, or was drunk and had a crash?

Perhaps it had just fallen off...that's possible....was he driving erratically?

Good chance I say. A responsible driver would at least duck tape it back up, that is if they didn't call a tow truck

This was definitely the result of hitting something. The idiot was just driving along with the bumper making an extremely loud scraping noise, and leaving the smell of burning tyre behind.

Quite possible he got a turn wrong and clipped a high kerb or something.I have seen people lose bits of bumper doing that.

If he'd been clued up he would have duct taped it as Gaz said, or atlest had a play with cable ties.

I once heard a similar scraping noise and looked up to see a woman driving on a flat. It was clear she was destroying her tyre completely and no amount of my warning her to stop and call the AA seemed to have any effect.

Some people are just idiots.
