Try thinking in advance.I.E if it looks like its going to rain is raining or forecast to rain I either pack spare socks or don't wear any.I have no trouble picking up newspapers at work either. If this was a problem I would store newspapers in my locker if need be.

I have just been out and got a newspaper (wanted to get it for the job section anyhow so the rest has been used) so my shoes are now stuffed with that. I will bring in some papers from home for future mornings like this. I keep my work clothes in the office and always have dry socks etc so that was not a problem.

One of the IT guys has just offered to put my shoes in the server rack to dry, however I do not want to be held responsable for them causing the server to fall over so i think i will see how the newspaper gets on first!!

I have a radiator, but most often just use a desk fan to dry my stuff..... I've just got in from doing some 'business miles' on the bike, and have an hour to dry my kit off before going home - the fan does a great job.

I find draping the wet clothes over the two pc's under my desk does a cracking job of drying them out.

Place shoes near the case fan outlets.

Talk to the IT bods and get them to install and run some stress testing utilities that will max out the processor and other components inside the machine, it will soon start belting out heat like there's no tomorrow. No good for anyone wanting to access their files or save their work, but excellent for drying out wet clothing.
