I have the chance to upgrade my wheels to DT Swiss CSW RA 1.0 Race from Easton EA30 aero. Has anyone used or have an opinion on whether these are a decent set of wheels.

I use my bike to commute five days a week, 14 mile each way so I'm looking for a sturdy set rather than a racing set.

Any advice is appreciated.

I can't even find those DT wheels anywhere to buy. I've found a comment to a post on another forum HERE which says they aren't even in the DT catalogue, so I don't know what to make from that TBH.

However, the DT wheels are called blah blah blah RACE, but then you say you don't want a racing wheel set. I'd agree with the reply in the above thread that the DT's are probably a low end wheel set equivalent to £150 - £200 wheels, so roughly the same as the Easton's your using now. Not saying it's a bad wheel, but probably not ideal for the high miles you do either.

How about Mavic Open Pro rims with *insert hub of choice* here? You could get a custom wheel set built with these rims and Ultegra hubs for around £250. Or if you want a bit more bling you could go for Hope Pro3 hubs which come in a range of colours and would come in at around £285 - £300 for a pair. The latter is also available off the peg HERE & HERE

Thanks for the help, I also found that previous thread but not much else. They can be seen on the cube website on the bike but nowhere else.

I may have to speak to the shop to see if I can pay the extra to upgrade as these wheels are being sent from cube under warranty

If you commute, just get training wheels.

Unfortunately my budget dosent stretch to buying another set of wheels but will look into training wheels in the future. I will just have to take what im offered.

Am I asking too much of a set of wheels to be able to do 30 miles per weekday or an average of about 200 miles per week? Pretty new to cycling so ignore me I it's a stupid question.

Wheels should be able to handle it, but usually they should be checked for tension after a couple of hundred miles. Training wheels can handle quite a lot compared to proper racing wheels, miles wise.
