My primary objection to that bike is to styling a 125 as a cafe racer.
My general objection to 125's in UK road legal learner friendly form is their chronic lack of horses. On a full license what is the point?

I've had full license for 30 years+, I just want to get to work now cheaply so want the best looking 125 (100mpg & £17 road tax), a 1000cc bike is not going to get me there any quicker. For fun I ride the Vespa or my bikes.

I have plans for it anyway...........

Sooooo many points.

Cheap to run
Cheap to buy
Cheap to insure
Cheap to service
Easy to ride on all weathers (bicycle brakes and all that)
Heated
Loads of Storage
You can drop them and they don't cost a zillion pounds to fix
No weekly maintenance, no sprockets changes, no chain tightening...you don't even put oil in them
As fast through town as an R1 (faster in my view)
You can step off them if you drop them...at least, I can...
Weatherproofing
less nickable
Ultra manoeuvrable for riding and parking

and even fun to ride.

give it a go, you may convert!

Oh, er, I don't know, its an 06 plate Grandtourissmo that was given to me by my old firm

Oh, I though you meant one of these, similar to my GL with the all important trapezoid headlamp. ^_^

I would definitely like a modern auto Vespa, I tested the water with a Yamaha 250 Majesty and it was great, but, it was plastic. I agree, 125's are perfect for city commuting.

Back in the 60's I had a Durkopp Diana scooter. I was told that it was considered one of the best around at the time.
I liked the look of those. A lot of 60's scooters were fugly but the Durkopp was on a par with the Lambretta and Vespa models of the day.

Chap I used to work with had always commuted on big bikes. Nevertheless, things came to a head when he traded his FJ twelve against a ZZR1400. First commute he looked down at the Speedo expecting the see about sixty, but was in reality pulling a very pedestrian and relaxed 110, with the big Zed barely ticking over in top The damn thing was an absolute Bugatti buster, and without even meaning to do so was getting to work very quickly indeed.

It's a 125 Van Van with another fat rear wheel put on the front, a popular custom mod. There are sub-cultures for small cc bike in many places now, probably as result of bike design having hurtled down a ludicrously expensive dead end.

I'd have a TU250 Grass Tracker if I could find one within reasonable viewing distance.

The Van Van turns up next week and I've been looking at many mods. :okay:
That should be towards the top of the list. Alongside this....
The number of these I've serviced with practically no oil in (egg cup full at most!) due to user neglect is unreal.

The thing is they just keep going, practically indestructible!.

We used to ge at least 3 a week in for service, don't see many about at all now and they go for strong money..
