Tough choice, as bike design is generally getting as ugly and as flabby as car design, with similar awkward "nods to the past" pastiches. One I want "off the shelf" doesn't spring to mind, loads of old ones do though. Maybe a Yamaha SCR950 scrambler?

Oh dear another one on my list of wanted bikes.

[QUOTE 4526262, member: 45"]If I had to choose one, I'd pick what I have now as it's perfect for me (CB500X). That's because it's an all-rounder though. Motorbikes are like bicycles -you can't have one but have to have a selection. So if I were to pick a selection from what's currently available:

For fun:

True, but you always had a smile when you arrived. That bike was pure unadulterated fun  I recently had a go on a Aprillia RSV Mille, that was a bit too hardcore and serious for me, but I did nail the throttle in the first 3 gears, bloody hell. I guess I've mellowed a bit with age
Great sounding bike and I should know as I followed one for miles when I rode down to Italy in a group.

Here for rides.
GG good luck on that one. Apparently I am on my last bike which is a GS1200, well that's what my wife says. Like you I see a bike and get smitten with it but finances dictate otherwise. As you probably know Triumph this week announced their new Bobber and to me it looks really cool.
But after watching BSB I felt determined to get a Fireblade as I do after I have been to the TT. At 65 I should really grow up but the funny thing is when I go out on my GS I just love it. Not the fastest bike but great in cornering, engine brakings , brilliant and a great field of vision. Seat could be better though. So perhaps my other half is right this really could be my last bike.
Have already been chastised simply for looking on the Ducati website!

Wouldn't be seen dead on one, or the Ducati Diavel or the Guzzi California......................yuk. I saw this bike near Shipley today, it looked an sounded coolio!

Yet another one to go on my wanted list. I bet there aren't many of them either.
