Anyone watching BBC1 recently will probably have come across the little trailers marking the 25 years of Eastenders, in which viewers (real? Hmmm...) relive their favourite 'duff duff' moments (the cliffhanging endings just before the drum solo heralds the closing theme), before doing the whole air drumming duff duff duff-duff-duff bit...

What's hilarious to me, is that none of them seem to know what the actual drum riff is! They're doing about 5 variations on the actual rhythm...

And I'm constantly reminded of a comedy sketch I saw (can't remember who it was) when they pretended it was done live and said there was a new drummer who kept getting it wrong and coming in in the middle of a really dull scene.;)

Each to their own and all that, but it amazes me how people get wrapped up in soaps, a tv series I can understand - but a soap about supposed everyday life? No thanks.

When I saw the thread of the title, I thought you were going to be asking for the mentioned duff duff moments from people! An over reaction on Admin's call for calm and sensibility in the cafe resulting in soap chat?! Aaarghhh!

I'm well aware of most people on here's attitude to soaps...

I 'sort of' watch Eastenders - I have the telly on for company as much as anything, and if it's on, I follow it (although often I'm online at the same time). I can miss it, and not be bothered.

I'm probably more au fait with The Archers, but then, they are family....

I watch it every week:blush::smile: but it is the only soap I do watch.
Love the portrayal of every day cockenees, surely it's more like a documentary than a soap though:biggrin:
Always reminds me of that Lee Mack sketch where he's doing the cockney impression clicking his heels in the air:biggrin:

If you enjoy it then fair enough.

I admit I used to tune into the archers a few years back. I enjoyed it for a while, but it's appeal faded. Don't know if they changed the writers or something.
