The wheels are too old (2012 lol!) to be listed on the shimano website, shown as 8-10 spd compatible originally, but current wheels are shown as 8-11 spd.

Possibly not. Shimano were bloody stupid/want your cash when they did the 10 speed wheels.

If you had Mavic and others, the 11 speed cassette would fit fine.

Thanks for the links, and comments from others.

My LBS has asked the Shimano rep, no reply yet. Having read about this and looked at some solutions I think I'll just remove a friends 11 speed cassette and see if it'll fit!

The freehub is not long enough. An 11 speed hub uses a 2.85mm spacer + a 10 speed cassette - A 10 speed hub takes a 1mm spacer and a 10 speed cassette.

Thanks for that, now I get it!

(proceeds to workshop with friend's 11sp cassette, places it in vice to see if it can be compressed by 1.85mm)
