Earache

I have had three bad ear infections since Christmas, the last one causing a discharge. Doctors haven't established a cause, they just pump me with antibiotics. I have recently been wondering if cold wind in my ear is causing it as cycling seems to be the only common denominator in the days before the infections get bad.

How about wearing ear-plugs or something similar,disposable ones can be inserted just enough to not fall out,but will impair your hearing if your worried about not hearing traffic.

Not had any infections, but I hate cold ears too. I wear a skull cap with a lowered section to cover the ears. Still allows me to hear whilst keeping the wind out.

I don't get earache but I do suffer from my nose streaming I don't know why.
everyone @ work always asking have you a got a cold when I say no they say why is your nose running then, I reply I have no idea !!!!!!

A runny nose whilst cycling is normal. It's the result of the windchill - October to April are your worst months though summer can also be bad - especially if you suffer from hayfever.

I will bear that in mind Moodyman, it happens more in the morning andlate @ night. as I work till ten on some shift and leave home around 6 in the morning

I hate getting the runny nose syndrome, especially when sniffing gets too much and you have to "clear" it out - the amount of times iv had the wind blow the snot back across my cheek is beyond counting!lol Still im sure it gives the traffic coming the other way a laugh!!

I get particularly cold fingers as opposed to any cold ears i must say but iv got fingerless gloves so pretty obvious cure there me thinks!
