I think things like this are fairly pointless.
Like the "being homeless for a night" or "starving for a day" to raise awareness. Or worse sharing a picture on facebook. Don't get me started on that one!
It's over entitled people making a token gesture before they return to their usual excesses.
Just cut back in general, or be more generous, or not. Your choice. But these gestures are just gestures.

Cant agree with you on that. I decided to do "my bit" last Wednesday.
Did without any alcohol (managed one hour)
Switched all lights off for 8 hours (OK it was midnight till 08:00)
Went for a ride on my Raleigh Palm Beach with the dynamo SWITCHED OFF.
Had my cornflakes without warming the milk up.
Surely if we all did this it would help??
