If you put any up, when are you taking them down? 🎅

12 days of Christmas by my calculations takes us up to the 5th so they won't come down before then.

Before the current trend for putting trees up at the begining of December I used to be able to buy a fresh spruce on around the 18th and put it up straight away. They would drink a litre of water every two days and not drop any needles.

Last year we couldn't get a spruce as apparently everyone wants nordmanns which don't drop needles. It didn't drop any but didn't smell of anything - a plastic one would have been just as good and cheaper too.

This year we got a spruce which has been up since the 16th. Clearly not fresh as it's only drunk half a litre in two weeks and is dropping needles. However, it still smells of Christmas even now.

Fake tree here, but I always cut assorted pine and conifer greenery from the garden, along with holly and ivy to put on the door and in a vase, and it always smells lovely.

Mine will be packed away in the loft tomorrow, as I had some unplanned stuff today. Checked on google, 12th night can be 5th or 6th so all good.

If not Candlemas it is then ^_^

Down on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord (the Sunday after the Epiphany).

PS. A single decoration (a Christmas nativity) is usually left out until the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord (also known as Candlemas).

Our Christmas decorations have just been switched off for the last time except for this one decoration which will be left out until the 2nd February (the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord).

I did 5th January as I was off work and thought I should do something.

Still burning the Christmas candles down, they'll finish tonight.

12th day of Christmas here . Packed away in large box which goes into the spare bedroom . After increasingly forceful hints from Mrs JK I put them in the loft about 3 weeks later.
I have put Christmas decs in loft this morning . This morning Mrs Jk went swimming with Sister and Niece, as she went out the door she said “as your staying in this morning you can put Christmas decorations in the loft.”
