Back on topic and yes it's a very strong story line. Sadly they have 'clouded the water' with Ian wanting rid of Patrick to keep his own indiscretion unknown to Denise.

Patricks storyline is really sad, he's been a vibrant and well loved character on the square and his son is a Dr.. but I don't understand how he walked away just handing over money but then has been absent for many years I'd have expected more though.

He is not family to anyone on the square though has been like a dad to Denise so I truly hopse she does the right thing and cares for him, but it's not looking likely.
Such a shame if it ends in him going to a home, they did that with Dots husband - but he in real life had had a stroke so I guess the portrayal was more difficult, he did some episodes post stroke so they did try to address the subject sensitively I think.

The actor in question is Rudolph Walker, who's big breakthrough was starring in Love Thy Neighbour.
He has been a stalwart of britsih TV for decades and was a trail blazer for black actors.
I havent watched the storyline, but I hope the plot is well done.
Eastenders has a poor history of giving characters illnesses and then making superhuman recoveries.

Mark Fowlers Alive???!!!
yes, he was in that ice dancing programme a few years ago.
I was think more about Ian's mental breakdown, which seemed to be cured by a cup of tea. And the fella who got shot in the head and couldnt walk, but was back up and running a few weeks later after being given a stern talking to.

Eastenders probably did a me a huge favour as they encouraged me to lose weight and get fitter - every time my sister sat glued to Eastenders with the volume of some mad woman screaming rattling the windows in the house, I was always found the motivation to go for a walk or a bike ride.

I have a pal who gets in Emmerdale from time to time. Apparently, it's even worse from the inside.
