I would fuel yourself up before you go out. Then pig out when you get back :rolleyes:
Don't want to run out of energy whilst your riding but take some snacks on board so you can eat on the go

Big school dinner.
Cycle home.
Peanut butter sandwich.
Change bikes, out for a ride.
Eat when I get home, if I'm hungry and if the rest of the gannets I live with have left me any!

my lunch usually keep's me going till around 8'ish,
If its just a small 15 miler I don't eat anything if it is over that I take 4 banana's and some money just in case.

Hi Darren, dont know how serious a rider you are but personally i ride around 4 nights a week after work and do 12/15 milers with longer rides at weekend but i find the bananas work for me, or a pack of malt/grain bellvita type biscuits before i go out then shower and good meal when i get home.
