I had a motorcycle frame done for £30 about 10 years ago. it was a lovely job! So that seems a bit steep.

Sounds steep to me especially when you factor in the cost of getting the frame to them in the first place.

Try a local coater. I had my cam cover chemically stripped and powered coated locally for £20 last year. Added benefit of having it done locally is you can see the final colour on the samples they'll probably have knocking about the place. Plus there's less chance of the carriers squashing the frame!

+1 i thought the same , factor in the cost of getting it to them and although they say they will send you piccies it could be a bit of a hassle if you receive it and there is damage .

get it done locally and use the extra that you would have spent in transport to have a 'special' colour and maybe decals before they laquer it.

you know the rules - pictures needed before and after

I put a frame and forks in today to be powder coated. Amwell Blast Coat, at Amwell, near Hoddesdon. I will let you know what sort of job they do when I collect the frame.

Looking to strip my old and abused 27 gear bike and turn it into a fixie. Hoddesdon isn't that far. How much are they charging you. Did you strip sand the frame before handing it over?
