The item in question is here

After some research I found this thread which used to show the bike in its previous colour scheme with a HUGE dent in the seat tube - which would have rendered the bike useless, but the seller has simply filled in the frame and repainted it, labelled it as a "revamp" and now selling it dishonestly, likely to cause injury to somebody when the frame fails.

Here is a message from him during some ebay messaging exchanges as proof of the defective frame:

" Hi, yup same bike, hence the revamp ;) dent is still there and been filled in with body filler.
Doesnt affect the bike as the dent is only about 1" across, doesnt even span the diameter of the stem.
Cheers
Steve"

I have reported the item but I am dubious as to the effectiveness of the reporting system - so if anyone else could also chip in and report, or if any of the criminally minded of you out there have a disused ebay account they dont mind placing a high bid and neg reporting..... :P

The bike is £50, what do you want a brand new carbon.
I'm merely guessing here, and I admit that I may be wrong, but he probably wants a bike that hasn't had a potentially dangerous defect filled in, and repainted, with a view to flogging it in an auction to an unsuspecting buyer.

Judging by the implied threats the guy made to Scilly Suffolk when taken to task on it, he doesn't appear to be the sort who would care much if the person who purchases the bike has an accident. Not the most pleasant of people.

If you're offering, but that bike might sell closer to £200 - which is a serious amount of money to spend on a death trap.

His latest message:

I'm not sure what its got to do with you but just so you know, its been looked at by a cycling engineer as i was thinking about the full refurb to its former glory and he said it was fine as it isnt across the full diameter of the stem, further to that it was put under a stress test and again it proved fine!
Now then, please stop messaging me or I will place an harassment claim to ebay.
REGARDS!
