So where do you folk get your free/cheap ebooks from? I've got a kindle and a nook.

I've got a lot of free ones from Amazon.
Including a couple of different translations of Homers Odyssey. I really ought to check before I download stuff that I haven't already downloaded it.

For my Sony eReader I got a lot of free older books from the Gutenberg Project.

I bought my first,a Sony, as they came out to take on holidays, prior to that half the weight in my case was books, as I'm an avid and fast reader! Taking an eReader (and charger for longer trips) means I ca take hundreds of books away and read at home, mostly in bed, with ease. Now that Amazon's prices for eBooks have started to fall I have a Kindle, the Sony's battery finally died. The ability of the Kindle to buy books almost anywhere where there is WiFi access is a boom too.

I also have a sony. This is the second one ive had as the battery in the first one finally died on me. I also have a samsung galaxy tab. Usually get my books from amazon, kobo or google playstore. I supose it all depends on the type of books you want to read really.

We have 2 Kindles & a Kindle Fire, I think they are in a drawer in the cellar, the one where the digital picture frames are kept, can't be sure tho'.....................

You can also get ebooks on a cd. I got a lot from ebay. I don't know if they still do the now though.

Never really been into ebooks but I can see the appeal of them.
I'm more of a library/real book person. I like to see peoples' books on shelves in their homes and they form topics of conversation and encourage guests to browse them. That will die out gradually.
As for author book-signings...those are cherished items. Could be a tad more difficult with ebooks.

Your right about that. However I always found it difficult to store all the books that I had and there was nowhere I could take my used and unwanted books. I never thought I would get to like ereaders but now I love them and wouldn't go back to shelves weighted down and literally groaning because they are crammed full of books all gathering dust, but I do know what you mean about the feel smell and texture of having a book in your hands.

My paper books are many, a common question from strangers to our house is have you read all of these? My wife groans, not another book, whenever I buy a 'real' book. So having a 100+ eBooks is a winner in her book.

Exactly the same here. Well, not that I have a wife. To put it in perspective - there is no more room to fit a bookcase in in the cottage, so one of the spare rooms in the almost finished extension is my library . Happy days.
I also download free books from Amazon to read on my phone's Kindle app - can't pass up the opportunity of a free book.
I have (unusually) a huge pile (yippee) of books that I haven't read yet sitting on the shelf. When there are offers on, I have to buy buy buy. Coming up to that time of year where there is nothing better to do than sit in front of the fire with a book.
