For the sake of it I think. He wanted to do a big cycle tour, and thought he might do a few shows as well.

That's some going for Eddie Izzard at whatever speed he did it. It knackers your legs running continuously on tarmac and he has never looked like a natural athlete.

Ah yes, I did glance at that thread.

Quite inspiring when 'regular' people do amazing feats. As someone who's run a couple of marathons (4 year gap between them I just find Izzard's feat stunning.

I'll be going out for a run this evening.

Well as a one time distance runner, I take my hat off to him/her, to do it off 5 weeks prep is extraordinary, just hope has no life long overuse injuries

Apparently he has to keep running otherwise his body will start to do weird things. Top marks to him as I never thought anyone with running pedigree could do it let alone Eddy Izzard. An awesome achievement for some one with only 5 weeks preparation and no sporting pretensions.

regardless whether you like him or not, that is quite an achievement; even at walking pace but he if I recall the news, did quite a respectiable time too., 5 hours?
