Ha ha, he was actually on one of those folding up commuter type things so i can't blame him for pushing it up that climb....i presumed he was just on the way home or something but he had a timing chip on his front fork !!
That was taken near the top of a 2-3 mile steady climb up through the moors about 20 miles into it....& there were loads of other riders around us even tho it looks like i'm bringing up the rear there  ....honest !

Was a great day out, wasn't it? My mate had three explosive p***tures, the first blasting away part of the tyre exposing the steel underneath. Those and the accident on the second half of the route meant we spent rather longer than planned.

Beautiful route and excellent choice of lanes though!

I started off with skull cap under my helmet & full winter gloves on but after doing a good section of climbs earlyish on....i was feeling the heat

Yeah it was a fantastic day out, i saw loads of puncture casualties roadside...i was lucky tho ! I missed the problems after that guy had the accident, it must have happened after i'd been through........hope he pulls through ok !

Nice photo wobbers,It could be the cover of cycling weekly. On a serious note very well done.

Some of my fave pics from the day...

standalone

Good effort by the Strickland Arms to lay on free apple juice (and cycling bears).

standalone

Amazing scenery. No wonder it's called Eden Valley.

standalone

Cresting the hill before dropping into Orton (nearly made 70 km/h on the descent, and "heat treated" my brake rotors). Jim ahead in the red, half-way through his p***ture extravoganza.

Lovely pics there  , yeah great stuff giving away that apple juice...very refreshing.

I think i got a similar speed downhill, i hit 45.5mph (according to Garmin) on that section......very exhilirating ^_^

I actually tried to take a pic near the top of that particular hill but my phone/camera decided not to play ball.....so no memories for me !

Good work there WobblyBob that looks a toughie, noticed your Endura Windchill jacket, I've the same, I have to say my favourite jacket by far, (even better than my Assos Airjack £185) CRC had them well reduced after xmas and nabbed me a couple for under £50 each. (sorry slightly off topic)
