Edge 510 and VIRB Elite

I`ve got the above units and have tried to pair the virb to the 510 so I can turn it on and off via the 510 unit, but I`m not having much luck. Both units have the latest firmware updates and the edge says virb found when turned on, but I cannot get it to control the camera. Any ideas?

Have you told the Virb to start automatically?

I turn both my 510 and the Virb on together, my 510 takes it's time, as it pairs with my phone, finds satellites and the virb etc, and then when I hit start on the 510, my virb starts recording till I stop my trip.
