I'm off to Edinburgh for a long weekend end of June. Staying central (St Andrew square iirc). Any recommendations for good places to eat which aren't chains. Not Michelin star level but good quality

Also any must sees although I have been before but at least 5 years ago

Thanks

Weather plays a big part on what to do in Edinburgh..i love the place..
as for food ,i just used the pubs and eateries on the mile..and the Radisson where we stayed.
Princess Street old town will be a good place for dining id think..
must go back soon

Going up as I have a work meeting in Galashiels on Monday and thought I might as well tag the weekend on. Land around 10.30 on Saturday so have pretty much all day and Sunday. My friend will also need to amuse herself on Monday, she's more of a walker than me so I'm sure she'll be fine

Fish and bbq are faves. I think I've eaten here before

When I have stayed in Edinburgh through work I enjoyed eating at The Albanach. Can get a bit busy though. I think there is a linked eaterie World's End further down the road, but have never managed to get in there as it has been so busy each time I tried.

Hire a bike and take the Roseburn path out of the city from Haymarket station through Cramond to South Queensferry. You'll have expended enough energy to justify this, at the Rail Bridge Bistro......
