Hi All,

After pulling out of Cameron Toll shopping center in Edinburgh yesterday morning, I found that a skip truck driver wasn't happy with my speed and couldn't get past. He was right up behind me revving and braking doing his best to intimidate me with his heavy vehicle. When he did pass it was as close as possible and he was shouting, swearing, honking and revving the whole time...
...This was bloody scary and dangerous but I didn't get any details on his truck or company.

He obviously has anger issues so I am posting this, as a record of this incident,in case anyone else has a similar incident with him and gets some details!!!

Welcome to the forum, sorry to hear of your experience... however, this doesn't really flag up anything as there are no details about the vehicle/driver.

Sorry to state the obvious.

Hope your future commutes/rides are better though, and don't let the b*stards grind you down!

Cheers - nice forum! If that ten ton bastard had ground me down I'd be mincemeat.

I wasn't sure about posting what is effectively an incident report in this forum. I've found the Raging Bike website has an incident section so I'll post it there instead :-)

No harm in posting here. Most of us post our incidents.

Welcome along, Timbob !

Quite a few other Edinburgh cyclists on here, so it's good to get even more. There really are a few idiots on the roads these days, but thankfully I've had a relatively incident-free time of it for quite a while.

Having said that, I'm thinking about digging out the helmet cam soon and using it again just in case. If memory serves me correctly from last year, once the warmer weather kicks in the number of bad drivers rises...

It's not just Edinburgh, I'd classify skip drivers as some worst drivers on the roads round York as well.

I got a big thumbs up for pulling in for a skip driver and letting him past.

(I was actually stopping to put my seat up, but I thought I'd get us cyclists some brownie points ;)).
