Used to be one of my LBS, it unfortunately closed in 2003 a couple of years after I moved away. You don't get too many of their frames pop up but a bit of tidying and perhaps a respray would make this a real head turner. I must admit to being tempted, but it might lead to a bit of domestic friction.

It's a "modern" Bates - straight forks etc.
Probably a nice bike. I had one similar in the early 90's, but it lacked the magic that the one I am riding in my avatar picture had.

Yes you're right they are not straight, but curved like most modern forks. I was really saying that it doesn't have the diadrant forks of the earlier models.

Very similar to the forks on my bike so I'd guess it was of the same era, late eighties / early nineties.

Pretty sure it was a 25, possibly the Basildon CC 25 in 1990 or 1991.

Just looked up my log of TT's - rode the 10 version of the E34 in 1970 & 1971!
