Years ago I used to dabble in electronics repair and I used to have the occasional need to pot things.

I used to have two bottles of epoxy that I'd mix and pour.

It wouldn't have been expensive because a) I'm tight and b) the stuff I'd be meddling with wasn't.

I now need to pot a board it's tiny, 50ml would be too much.

I'm struggling to find anything sensibly priced on Amazon or eBay. I'm guessing the world has moved on and whatever I used to use has probably been banned. I think I got it from a bloke who used to repair generators.

So I was wondering, could I just use Araldite rapid epoxy as a potting compound?

We used to have tins of potting compound in the office, both epoxy and polyurethane. It's blooming expensive now but you can get small quantities in those polythene bags that have resin and hardener separated by a plastic clip. Have a look on Ebay.

RS have a sub division for sales to the public...Electospares perhaps, I can't remember the name.
We used to use potting compound at work, nasty stuff, correct PPE is a must if it dictates it.

In the end I thought stuff it... Bout a syringe of Gorilla Epoxy and used that.

data shows dielectric strength of about 500v /mm

Needed about 10ml. Seems to have done the job on my 5v jobby.

I used to have RS and Farnell accounts when in the trade. They have become very expensive, but a good lookup website.

I find the item I'm interested in, look up RS. Then go on either Alibaba or the other Chinese stores order same item for fraction of price including shipping and tax
