Here’s my budget tip, for anyone who likes the handlebar style.
There seems to be a premium price on moustache or Lauterwasser bars. Dunno why.
I bought from Planet X, special offer.
On One Mungo bars - they only have white ones left.
£5 summat + postage.
I sanded and polished the powdercoat off the centre section, bar tape covered the rest.

Clever.

I put over 20 miles on this today in fixed mode. 16 miles round a local track (flat), then a 2 mile 5% climb and back.
I’m chuffed to bits with this bike, such a hoot to ride.
Checking back on Strava, this was my fastest ascent of the climb for nearly 3 years. The faster effort was done on my carbon bike, maybe even with a back wind.
The gearing at 44/16 felt like a pretty good compromise.

Ok, just a few more bits to find.
I don’t have a fixed/ss bike at present so that’s what this project will be.
I ordered a wheelset today. 27 x 1-1/4 with flip flop hub, 16T sprockets.
Any suggestions on what size chainwheel to start with?

afternoon sir

nice job on the elswick.

if you don't mind me asking, where did you get the wheelset from?

thanks in advance
