Collected my Elswick tonight. Got it home and kind of accidentally stripped it right down. It's not a terrible pish model, no trick Reynolds tubing here, although the frame seems light enough. Most of the plated parts are actually well protected by a film of grungy oil so have come up very well. It was supplied new in 1978 by an LBS who are still trading, and who's current owner I know. No visible wear on the gears or chainrings so I don't think it covered many miles before spending over 30 years in someone's garage.

Anyhow, before I clean it all up, repack the bearings etc and reassemble it, I was wondering if anyone could confirm that the BB threads are English Thread 24 TPI?

Cheers.

I would be very surprised if they weren't. My 1939 Elswick has 24tpi threading.
