This question arises because at present we use email addresses @ourwebsiteURL, all of which were set up for me ages ago by an IT geek. Now we've retired, I want to stop paying 1&1 for webspace we no longer need, but I don't know what to do about one aspect of email.

We don't need to be able to still get mail sent to the existing addresses, so the plan is to just let them go and for me to use the @btinternet.com address I've had ever since we got t'interweb. Question is, though, what to do about the missus.

Any ideas as to how we get a specific email address for her which is not a free account like Hotmail?

er isn't bt internet email bt yahoo email these days ? Was for my parents.

Should be able to create a new email address from the webmail page

BT Internet should give you 6 or 10 addresses. Log into the master account and set one of them up for her.

I'm intrigued by your reasons for not wanting to use yahoo / hotmail / gmail etc?

I've been using gmail for the past 6 years with no problems issues or downtime

Simple - one or two firms we deal with specifically ask that whenever possible the contact email address you provide them with is not on a free account.

Also, when we used to run an online enquiry form on our site which was hosted by 1&1, the only time we ever had a problem responding to enquirers was when they used a Hotmail (and to a lesser extent Yahoo) account.
