Pardon me if this has been asked before, but is there any way you can get email notifications on this 'ere forum when one of your posts has been directly replied to?

Yes, go to My Account at the top of this page.
Then to Subscriptions towards the bottom of the page.
then click on List Subscriptions.

You will see a list with a box to tick at the right hand side
tick the box of the relevant thread.
go to the bottom of the page and highlight "instant notification by e-mail"

oh and do not forget to press "Go" at the end of that process.

You can also modify your account settings to automatically subscribe you to threads you start, or reply to:

My Account > Edit Options > Messaging & Notification

You can subscribe with no email notification, or get instant / daily / weekly emails.

The email notifications give you a summary of the latest replies to a thread.

one of the reasons that people got fed up with bikeradar was that you started getting emails for every thread you posted in, which meant a lot of emails.

it does that on my club's forum too, although the small amount of traffic on it means it's hardly a problem.
