Dear all,

I'm about to embark on an Ironman journey, starting with some 70.3 races next year and then hopefully a full IM in 2021. Just to finish, to enjoy the training and to stay fit (yep 47 yrs old). SO I have decided that the flexibility of a road bike is for me as Finland is a lovely place to explore and the budget is limited as maybe one IM is sufficient.

I have found a couple of options here in Helsinki
1. New Emonda SL 5 2018 with Shimano 105 €1400 & 8.55kg
2. Used Lapierre Aircode 2017 with Shimano 105 (unsure of exact model maybe 500 picture attached to help identification) also €1400 & ?kg

All thoughts on which option (or other suggestions given above needs) appreciated

I'd go for the Emonda but that's an unrequited love affair.

Have you considered a TT bike if you are planning on an Ironman? For this sort of event a lightweight bike is less important as aerodynamics will have a bigger impact than weight.

Lapierre,'cos it's not a Trek:biggrin:.

As si_c says I'd look at an aero road bike like a Ridley Noah(),S-Works Venge(always loads kicking around used) etc.
