It's called lots of different things in lots of different companies and organisations. Some companies do it on an annual basis.

Its gone quiet of course....
90% of any staff involved would be of....whats the right term...foreign birth, the company is foreign and has a pretty ruthless reputation within the industry...so it could well steamroller such changes through without much opposition.

Personally, I couldnt give monkeys, if they try it I'll take them to tribinal or similar, I dont have much in the way of financial commitments so could get stubborn and play the game...if they sacked me, so be it.

I realise companies can and do change terms and conditions ...they can get away with a lot if they're careful...I wondered about whether its legal to wipe away your length of service. Its maybe not black and white.

I suspect it is just that..rumour. Thanks for the input, if anything develops, I'll be back.

You can easily sign away something not legal. If no one challenges it then it won't get picked up for some time.

Before I was a rep there had been a dismissal and re-engagement (which I pieced together). Some quite considerable time later I'm getting a complaint from a member about being very fatigued, I look at his rota and see his hours are completely illegal and break the WTR. Are you aware of that, did you sign anything to say you realised that. No mate, they just told me to sign it. I go to see the HR manager, what do you think about this, ah well we'll look at it but is an isolated case. I do a bit of detective work and find four other people with the same. Same area, same manager overseeing it and did the meeting. Rumbled.
