Anyone using this phone app or anything similar? I have just started using it and it seems very useful currently mapping route, elevation and speed. It has the option to link to HR monitor but I am unsure if I would use that as it requires spending money and it is currently free. I already have a polar but would need to buy the £80 Endomondo HR monitor. If I come to spending more I'll prob be looking for a Garmin/Bike comp type thing that will measure cadence also.

I'm fishing for friends really. Then we could set up cyclechat specific challenges and compete against each other 'virtually'.

your best off selling your current comp and buying a new one, the apps do tend to have there inaccuracies

Here there is Strava as well here

Haha, found it. Thank you. I just like starting pointless threads... :-)

I literally only have a Cateye 5 that is why being able to use the Endomondo is useful and free for me. I find the acurracy depends on how good your phones GPS is and I have found my new phone to work much better than my last. If I had £300 so pounds to spend on a Garmin I would...

I notice a lot of people having complaints about Endomondo. Maybe it is more than the phone's performance and stability. No problems yet for me *touch wood*. It is better than nothing I guess and my favourite price -FREE!

I use www.sportypal.com as my main tracking, its by far the best ive found for numbers geeks. Rather than seeing the time per km you can split it up however you want, which is good for seeing average speed over a certain section/intervals. Results graphs show your monthly stats/averages. It used to be a lot better than endomondo, but its development is a bit slow and userbase way smaller which is a shame.

I use www.endomondo.com too, but mostly just for the cyclechat leaderboard to give me a little extra motivation.

Cyclemeter app is a beast for the amount of stats and graphs it has. You can export a GPX file from the app to your email too so I use it when I'm out then upload the gpx file to Strava.

Where I am, a lot of the pros including the Sky GB and Rapha Condor riders use Strava. It is really interesting to see how fast they can go up some of the hills in the Pennines and surrounds and the length of some of their training rides on the same roads that you cycle.
