Strange.......quite a few CCrs (and my son) swear by fig biscuits for energy boost.
Don't like them myself so (maybe fortunately) I've never tried them.

How did your shorts wash ?

I often used to see well qualified people (like the GCN boys for example) talking euphemistically about some energy products giving you "digestion difficulties" or "stomach upsets", and it's taken me a long time to work out that it's not really some stomach discomfort that they're talking about. Had they said a case of the squits I'd have been clearer about what the likely outcome actually is.

As I age I find I'm less tolerant of carbohydrates so maltodextrin in my drink bottle always causes abdominal cramps and copious wind in the hour or so after a ride.

Baked beans are now off the menu because the after effects are really antisocial.
