Lots of telephone scams at the moment, a lot of scammers seem to have stopped credit card number stealing scams and are just selling usless crap over the phone.
At the moment I get a lot of calls from people who have been sold fake antivirus/pc care protection packages over the phone ( I repair/sell computers for a living ).
The lastest scammers are uninstaling the victims good antivirus programs and replacing them with a free antivirus products such as microsoft security essentials etc, and then charging between £90 and £140 for the pleasure.
I have managed to get 2 of my customers their money back in the last couple of weeks when they got scammed by these scumbags and it seems to be old people they are targeting. They use scare tactics to confuse them and get them to pay, they have even rung me a few times which I quite enjoyed

however they didnt
So if anyone reading this gets a phone call telling them their computer is a risk it is a scam so just hang up, unless you want to wind them up of course.
