England v Pakistan - Spoilers very welcome

Pakistan finally bowled out for 400, giving them a first innings lead of 103, which I think will make England's task of saving the game considerably more difficult, with two days and a bit to go.

England back in front after an undefeated opening stand (about to put the kiss of death on that, I suppose).

The same application and concentration needs to be shown to establish a formidable score, not easily chased-down by Pakistan, who should be looking to take a 2-1 lead in this 4 Test series.

Well played, Captain Cook and First Mate Hales.

England making a bit of a pig's ear of this: 182 in front with 5 wickets in hand.

Batsmen have got themselves in, then played a rash shot and paid the price. And they're only going along at 2.83 runs an over.

If Pakistan can get them out before lunch tomorrow, then a run chase, in the region of 250 runs in two and a bit sessions, will make for an exciting final day. Or England will have to bowl and field considerably better than they did first time round.

Game on.

Well, this partnership between Bairstow and Ali (132 runs) has taken the wind out of Pakistan's sails completely.

England now lead by 311 runs with 5 wickets in hand at stumps. I suspect they'll bat for an hour tomorrow morning in T/20 mode then have two and a half sessions to throw everything at Pakistan.

That result wasn't looking very likely on days one and two. If it wasn't for this lousy virus, I would have dragged the lad off the X box and got down there.

Well played!

So, after a Pakistan victory looked likely after 1st innnings, Pakistan throw it away and collapse in their 2nd innings to lose a game they should never have lost.

A cynical person would suggest there could have been an element of match fixing. However, as Pakistan have never been involved in such a thing, it is unlikely to be be match fixing
