For sheer volume of paper you won't beat The Sunday Times (good for lighting fires or lining the cat litter tray) . However I prefer The Independent or The Observer for content.

The best Sunday paper is the Saturday Guardian: loads of good reading to see you through the week. Only thing missing, of course, is the footie, but you can catch up on that online. Good luck with your job hunting.

Kingston on Thames on Sunday does nice articles about pretending to be part of London, when it's not.

Edit: On reflection my post looks really childish and petulant. Oh well, fuggit!

The Observer is often a rehash of the Saturday Guardian with a lot more tosh thrown in.
Saturday Guardian has enough to keep you occupied including the best cryptic crossword.

Is that a politically correct version of swinging?

What sort of work and why Peterborough?
Wonder why you are leaving Spain. Tell me not to be so nosy if you want. It's fine.
I took the family to live in Spain in 88. What a mistaker to make, in my case anyway.
I find the paper papers boring now as there are no comments to read at the end of a story. I usually find the comments more entertaining.

My advice would be to do something useful instead. Go ride a bike for example. Reading Sunday papers can only lead to feelings of stress, impotence and disappointment. Going for a bike ride OTOH will raise your endorphin levels instead of lowering them.
Even if Comrade Asterix is not wholly serious, that advice is spot on. The overall effect of newspapers, and the five minute TV/radio snippets which pass for news, is largely pernicious. IIRC there is some serious clinical research which shows that people who don't 'keep up with the news' are healthier and considerably happier.

Sundays are a bit tittle-tattle, no real substance to them.
Totally agree, and that is why I choose to work on Sundays. In 35 years of work, 99% of it has involved shift work. I much prefer to have time off during the week, when you can actually get things done. I can have the back roads and cycle paths to myself too!

My advice to the OP is - ditch the depressing papers and get a job which involves Sunday working.
